We had only stayed here once before, although we had dined there several times, over the years. We wanted to have a laid-back, water-based interlude to celebrate this year’s anniversary, so we booked a three-night stay. Putting our run-about boat in the water at Pineland Marina (next door), and docking it behind the Lodge, we had three days of access to water destinations (Cabbage Key; Cayo Costa State Park; Boca Grande; and Matlacha), plus fishing opportunities in Pine Island Sound. Casual breakfasts; cocktails on our deck watching pods of dolphins feed, and white pelicans roost; a delightful dinner, watching the sundown drift into the starry night all combined to make this celebration memorable. We will, most assuredly visit again.

We have been here several times over the years and is just a wonderful slice of old Florida! We bring our boat so great dockage and fishing from the lodge. The staff could not be better and the Wells family have done a wonderful job in maintaining the beautiful property and inn in the old Florida tradition. A special thanks to Peggy at the front desk for assisting us with a problem we were having! Looking forward to our next visit

Spectacular view for the wedding and then a fabulous dinner reception inside. The staff was very attentive and the food was delicious! Very quaint, old Florida decor. Lovely, quiet location. We were able to watch the sunset. Rooms were available but we did not see them. Would love to go back again.

The restaurant is helpful and careful with food allergies, has an excellent selection for lunch, great friendly service, nice white porch and good views. Bring your out of town guests here! Allow extra time to watch the pelicans diving for fish. A delightful taste of old Florida.

My husband and I went for a drive to Pine Island and ended up having lunch at the Tarpon Lodge. The staff was fantastic and we could not have asked for a better view. We watched the boats and a storm come in. The food was amazing. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and said it is by far the best Cuban he has ever had. I had the Clams and shared some of my husbands black beans and rice that came with his meal. Everything was great and we will be back – next time to spend the weekend at the Lodge.

For years we’ve talked about staying at the Tarpon Lodge; but, just never got around to it … So glad we did … This is a place to truly relax! The grounds are beautiful, well-manicured. They have lots of dock space for boaters, a pool, yard games – plus wonderful shaded areas under the Island House with tables, chairs, hammocks, grills and more. However, you might just want to go for the food in the restaurant – amazing. Great menu choices. Frankie our friendly server took excellent care of us, and everything we ordered was delicious (don’t miss the Crabmeat Tortellini.) In the morning they have an ample spread for a self-serve breakfast that includes coffee, tea, juices, bagels, fresh fruit, variety of yogurt, energy bars like CLIF and KIND, and other goodies. We are looking forward to returning – and next time it will be for more than one night!

We had lunch here on a very late weekday about 4 pm. The added benefit was to have no wait and reasonable lunch prices while enjoying the sun just coming down and views of the ocean. Perfect!!!! The fish tacos were great … Walking the grounds afterwards was the BEST. You can take the ferry off island or just enjoy the view.
