“Just Perfect”

Reviewed May 29, 2013 by Patricia D of Fort Myers, Florida

I took my disabled daughter for a scenic ride and stopped by for lunch and must say we were mesmerized by the view and our lunch was wonderful. That being said, we booked the next evening to stay and enjoy more of the views, live music, staff and food. My daughter was delighted with her comfy queen size bed and the charm of this historic lodge. We cannot wait to book our next mini vacation here and enjoy the wonderful staff. Thank you all for being so gracious to us and look forward to seeing you soon! Patricia and Kelly D

“Memorable Wedding Weekend”

Reviewed April 5, 2013 by 4025juliie

Spent a weekend attending a destination wedding there recently. From after lunch on Saturday to lunch on Sunday the lodge was opened for just the wedding guests staying at the lodge. The entire lodge was booked just for the wedding. It felt like a private retreat for just family and friends. We can not say enough about the comfortable rooms (ours with a view), the food, the professional staff and all the attention to detail for the wedding. It was a special occasion made just that much more special by everyone connected to Tarpon Lodge. Highly recommend for a low key romantic weekend getaway.

Room Tip: Rooms on water side of the Island House with a balcony are great for viewing water and sunset.

“Escape to Old Florida”

Reviewed March 28, 2013 by Linda R of Glenmont, New York

Tarpon Lodge was the perfect setting for the ‘destination’ wedding we recently attended. Updated, yet still Old Florida..no chain motel/artificial feeling, as we watched the water lap against the docks, glistening in the sun. The beds were great, the food was excellent, the wedding on the dock – intimate. Free to roam, we felt like the place was ours. There is no beach, but there is plenty of relaxing water and an archeological nature walk across the road. A wonderful venue for a wedding – no outsiders, so the group got to know each other casually by just roaming on the property. An evening boat ride was chartered to take the entire group to the Cabbage Key Inn and Restaurant for the rehearsal dinner – a fabulous addition to the wedding weekend. On the return trip, the night sky was filled with a spectacular stellar show, another bonus. We would definitely return to Tarpon Lodge and Cabbage Key and spend more time exploring, walking, boating…daydreaming..

“Anniversary Getaway”

Reviewed March 15, 2013 by Holygrail77 of Vero Beach, Florida

My wife and I recently booked a weekend getaway here to celebrate our first anniversary. From the moment we came on to the property, I knew we were in for a relaxing time. It is off the main strip, away from the noise. We stayed in the Island House with a water view. When we arrived, we were delighted to find a wine-tasting in the dining room. Who knew Chilean grapes would be so bold?! We were encouraged to set reservations for dinner during our stay. We opted for dinner on Saturday evening. Our server, Jeff, made the meal more memorable by making a point to wish us a Happy Anniversary. My wife and I both ordered dishes with crab meat, and they were each a delight to the palette. I tried a “local” cocktail called a Cabbage Crawler, which I found sweetly refreshing.

“A Destination Sure to Make Memories…”

Reviewed August 5, 2012 by shallowwaterangler of Miami

Tarpon Lodge can be thought of as a superbly-appointed historic resort. The balcony views of our room (on the Island House building) were breathtaking vistas of Pine Island Sound. The room itself had “double A/C” and an extremely comfortable queen size bed. The Lodge offers charter boats- skiffs and center consoles- with some of the best capatins around, all this on private docks mere steps from our room. The docks accomodate private boaters who dine at their wonderful Restaurant and Bar.

Each of the days I fished, i enjoyed an excellent complmentary breakfast in the morning and a refreshing dip in the pool when my day was over. Of additional note is the stupendous amouts of birdlife and eco-tour options at Tarpon Lodge. This is a must-see, must-stay resort that works wonders from family fun-types to hardcore travelrs.

“Great Memorial Day Getaway”

Reviewed May 30, 2012 by Lee G of Tampa, Florida

This was my second or third trip to the Tarpon Lodge and it was as wonderful as I remember it. The historic lodge on Pine Island, Florida, is a great place to go for a quiet, relaxing weekend. Fun place to take your boat as there are docking facilities and lots of fun islands nearby to explore. The service is excellent! Because it is not a large facility and it is family-owned and managed, you will be treated more like a guest visiting a friend’s home than a patron staying in a hotel. The rooms in the historic part of the lodge, with the beautiful old pine wood floors, are my favorite. It has the feel of a quaint B&B. Other members of my family stayed in the newer part and their rooms were carpeted and more like a hotel room. There are also two “boat house” rooms on the property where some of my family have stayed with young children and enjoyed it, as it is more like an efficiency. I have not seen those rooms. The restaurant is very good, the servers are very friendly, the pool is very nice. The grounds are beautiful and a great place to watch stunning sunsets.

March 2012, Attended a Wedding here, and it was amazing, the stay was such a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Historic Lodge, in one of just a few rooms located in the Main building. The decor was amazing, this place was amazing as the Wedding Of Matt & Isabellas was ever so beautiful. They married on the dock, the cocktail hour was out on the lawn under a tent, the food at the cocktail hour was so amazing. But the main course oh my goodness this was probably one of the best ever reception entrees ever.. We will be back to stay at another time for sure. The Island was beautiful, we also boarded a boat from the dock that took us to beautifulN.Captiva Island, a must see. Excellent experience.

“No better place on the planet to relax!”

Reviewed June 24, 2011 by Dustyg77 of Cape Coral, Florida

Our company hosted a fishing tournament and family fun day at Tarpon Lodge on June 17th & 18th. Our event turned out just over 300 people of whom the TL staff feed and papered too! We also, booked out the entire lodging facilities for our guests! All visitors were more than pleased with their rooms and their overall experience. Their management and staff were very attentive to all of our needs. The service they provided was first class and we can’t wait to team up with them again to host our PR events!
