We love weddings at Tarpon Lodge. Our family and our staff get to know each wedding couple and their families, and over the year or so of planning, they become like family to us as well. And while each wedding has its own special and unique flavor, there is something about the fresh breezes, sparkling Gulf waters and romantic moonlight that create a most magical and memorable experience for all our couples and their guests.

One especially beautiful wedding reception took place on May 5, 2012 when Noelle and John Montgomery brought 115 of their closest friends and relatives to Tarpon Lodge. We recently talked with Noelle and John and they shared their experience with us. Here’s what they had to say:

We chose Tarpon Lodge because we have always loved it for meals with friends and family, fishing trips, anniversaries and holiday events. Both the location and the Lodge exude old Florida charm, and it is a hidden gem with an exclusive feel.  While our ceremony took place at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Cape Coral, we could not imagine a better venue for the reception. It is so beautiful there that you really don’t have to do much decorating!

We were absolutely delighted with every detail. There was a beautiful spread set up for the cocktail hour under a tent, designed by Shohreh Durkin, the incredible Food & Beverage Manager and a very close friend of ours. The bar was set by the beautiful gazebo. After the cocktail hour, we went inside for dinner which took place in the restaurant and on the back patio. lt was a perfect, comfortable fit, and just like every occasion at Tarpon Lodge, the service was unparalleled – we could not have asked for anything more.

Leading up to our special day, we worried a little about the weather but it turned out that we didn’t need to. It was a gorgeous, perfect day. In fact, our guests were so taken with the sunset that we could barely get them inside for the cutting of the cake – they were affixed to the dock, taking photos and enjoying the view!
